This expansion was released in three (3) phases in November 2012, April 2013 ('Shadow of Fear') & July 2013 ('Heart of Fear').

This expansion increased Character Levels to 100; introduced Slayer & Hunter Achievements; the Aggro Meter; Collect Items & Achievements; Off-Line Bazaar; and the ability to utilize (search & buy) Bazaar from any Zone.

It also featured the New Tanaan Tradeskill Quest series (updated / new Prayer Shawl) and some of the Raids / Missions included voiced cut scenes (the MOB's talk as part of the event), such as with the Plane of Shadow Luclin event.

This expansion was sold in two (2) versions.

This Achievement section is for the achievements related to the Rain of Fear expansion.

Rain of Fear was the 19th expansion, released in November 2012. It increased Character Levels to 100, added Hunter Achievements, the Aggro Meter, Collectibles (and the related Achievements), off-line Traders (Bazaar) and made most (dropped) gear All / All.

Defeat Vulak'Aerr without allowing any Chaos Orbs to explode.

During this event, multiple 'chaos orb' will spawn and roam about (they look a lot like a portal), with a detrimental aura around them. Immediately knockback / root / snare them away from the raid.

Multi-Faceted 10

Defeat Vulak'Aerr after experiencing the effects of all five Drake auras.

There are actually six (6) Drakes that spawn (after about 2.4 Minutes). When killed, their corpses emanate an aura (some bad, some good). You need to suffer the effect of five (5) different auras.

A Little Help from My Friends 10

Defeat Vulak'Aerr with at least two dragon allies still alive.

A Kinder Gentler Murderer 10

Do not use the Dagger of Spectral Disruption.

During this event, one Player will get a Dagger of Spectral Disruption, that they use to kill adds. Don't use it. Instead, kill adds the normal way.

Regular Sleuths 10

Correctly identify the murderer on your first confession or accusation.

Going by the clues, have the Player, who is the murderer, confess and get it right.

Impressively Bad 10 Defeat the raid after having mis-identified the 'murderer' at least five (5) times. Hopefully, this is on purpose, bot because your raid is horrible with the clues!
Conqueror of East Wastes: Zeixshi-Kar's Awakening 10 Defeat the listed Raid event.
Vanquisher of Zeixshi-Kar's Shard 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Suffer No Traitors 10 During this raid, there are 'Coldain' & 'Kromrif' -- with 'Soldier' in their name -- that you supposed to 'free' (by charming them). Kill them instead.
Free Five 10

During this raid, there are 'Coldain' & 'Kromrif' -- with 'Soldier' in their name -- that you supposed to 'free' (by charming them).

Charm at least five (5) of them.

Crystals Are Not Forever 10

During this raid, Players will be regularly targeted and encased inside a crystal (literally).

Target the crystals ('crystallized fear') and kill them to free all Players, ASAP, less than 60-seconds after they become trapped.

Conqueror of The Crystal Caverns: Fragment of Fear 10 Defeat the listed Raid event.
Vanquisher of Danela's Stand 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Boulder Basher 10 During this event, there are visible and targetable 'a boulder. that form in about three spots on the ceiling, high above. Damaging them (ranged) can dislodge them and cause them to fall. The tank needs to position Danela so that they always land on her head.
Avoiding Explosives 10 During this event, on the ramps above, Orcs will walk about that can set 'a barrel of dynamite' that will explode if not destroyed first. Destroy them (and the Orcs too) ASAP (this means sending players up there for this purpose).
Orc Preservation 10

During this event, on the ramps above, Orcs will walk about that can set 'a barrel of dynamite' that will explode if not destroyed first.

Do not kill any of these Orcs.

Conqueror of Kael Drakkel: The King's Madness 10 Defeat the listed Raid event.
Vanquisher of The Madness of King Tormax 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Can't Touch That 10

Do not allow Yelniak to absorb any 'a disruption shard,' at all.

No Damage off-tank King Tormax (he has to survive the event). The a disruption shard to spawn (they have an aura around them) in the around the area. Take Lord Yelinak away from Yelniak and / or destroy them, ASAP. The faster the a crystal of fear is damaged to 50% and later to 13%, the less a disruption shard you get.

Mass Crystal Consumption 10

Allow Yelniak to absorb at least twenty-four (24) 'a disruption shard.'

No Damage off-tank King Tormax (he has to survive the event). Slow DPS a crystal of fear (kill dwarf adds). Allow twelve (12) a disruption shard to spawn (they have an aura around them) BEFORE a crystal of fear reaches 50%. Once done, take a crystal of fear to 50% and Lord Yelinak will spawn. No DPS to Lord Yelinak! instead, drag him around to each of the a disruption shard until all twelve (12) have countered his 'Icerain Explosion' (EMOTE: Lord Yelinak's concentration is broken by the crystal shard, and his rain of ice spell is interrupted.). Kill the dwarves when they spawn. Once the twelve (12) a crystal of fear have triggered, repeat the process and allow twelve (12) more a crystal of fear to spawn, before BEFORE a crystal of fear reaches 13%. Once done, Lord Yelinak will respawn... again, no DPS and drag him around to each of the twelve (12) a disruption shard. Once they have all triggered... win the event.

The Angry Giant 10

During this event, King Tormax is aggro, but you are to keep him alive (off-tank), not kill him. If he is too far away from 'a crystal of fear' he will leash back to it.

The trick here is, first off, do NO DAMGE to a crystal of fear. Instead, pull King Tormax as far from a crystal of fear as possible (just short of where he will tether), damage him to about 60% and he will start to emote about being angered. Once it says 'King Tormax reaches his maximum level of rage.' -- then attack a crystal of fear, keep King Tormax where his is (alive) and beat the event.

Conqueror of the Breeding Grounds 10 Defeat the two (2) listed Raid events.
Vanquisher of A Feast for Zalikor 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Curing the Corrupted 10

Do not allow any of your allies to be devoured by Zalikor while corrupted.

While flying about, Zalikor will target Players with 'Devour' (a 500K DD). If a Player is corrupted (they will look like a Drake if they are), cure them ASAP.

Fire Fleer 10

Do not allow any of your allies to be hit by a blast of fire.

During this event, when Zalikor is flying around, he will emote that he is about to AoE at a particular 'aura' (the ramp area's have certain aura's at certain precipices). Players who are on the related precipice, need to run to another precipice, and stay there for at least 60-seconds.

The Cursed Cannot Live 10

Do not allow any of the cursed whelps to be eaten by Zalikor.

Up on the ramp precipices, some of them have 'a crystal egg.' If not killed, they will hatch into 'a cursed whelp.' If 'a cursed whelp is not killed, Zalikor will eat them after a short time. So, kill them ASAP.

Vanquisher of Velishan's Revenge 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Scales of Stone 10

Defeat Velishan after she has entered her Stone form at least 3 times.

During this event, Velishan will change 'forms' and color: black (Magic), light green (Disease), turquoise (Ice), red (Fire) and brown / grey (Stone, Melee). Do not kill Velishan until Velishan has changed to Stone form... three (3) times. You can force the change by using attacks / spells for the next noted 'immunity' in the sequence. So, if Velishan is in Magic form and you want to change Velishan to Stone... use Melee based attacks, while avoiding all other attack types as much as possible, to force the change. Once, change Velishan in similar fashion to any other form and then back to Stone... and repeat until Velishan has changed to Stone form a third time. Once done, then finish her off.

Any Two Forms Will Do 10

Defeat Velishan when she has only used two forms.

During this event, Velishan will change 'forms' and color: black (Magic), light green (Disease), turquoise (Ice), red (Fire) and brown / grey (Stone, Melee). Do not kill Velishan until Velishan has changed forms twice. You can force the change by using attacks / spells for the noted 'immunity.' So, if Velishan is in Stone form and you want to change Velishan to Magic form... use Magic based attacks, while avoiding all other attack types as much as possible, to force the change. After two (2) changes finish Velishan off.

The Scales of Velishan 10

Defeat Velishan after she has used all forms in this order: Magic, Ice, Fire, Disease, Stone.

During this event, Velishan will change 'forms' and color: black (Magic), light green (Disease), turquoise (Ice), red (Fire) and brown / grey (Stone, Melee). Do not kill Velishan until Velishan has changed to Magic, Ice, Fire (Fire), Disease and Stone forms (in that order). You can force the change by using attacks / spells for the next noted 'immunity' in the sequence. So, if Velishan is in Magic form and you want to change Velishan to Disease... use Disease based attacks, while avoiding all other attack types as much as possible, to force the change.

Conqueror of Evantil, the Vile Oak 10 Defeat the listed Raid event.
Vanquisher of Heart of the Oak 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Sneeze Guardian 10

Defeat the Heart of the Oak without anyone stepping into the pollen cloud.

In the battle with the Nest Protector, there will be a visible roaming aura ('a spore cloud'). All Players also need to move to avoid it. No one can get hit by this aura ('Pollination' followed by 'Explosive Sneeze').

Untrappable 10

Do not allow anyone to be trapped in a mantrap for more than 45 seconds.

In the battle with the Nest Protector, there will be a number of 'a mantrap' around the room. They can summon Players to them and hold them there. Kill all of a mantrap ASAP, especially if they have summoned a Player.

Fire Master 10

Send at least six tainted plants to a flaming end against the molars defending the mouth of Evantil.

At the start of the raid, down below the ramp up into the tree, there are two campfires (one is across the gorge). Pull six (6) of the trash MoB's across either of the campfires, and it will catch on fire and run up the ramp into into the 'molar' MoB's. Make this a priority over killing the 'Molars.'.

Conqueror of Grelleth's Palace, the Chateau of Filth 10 Defeat the listed Raid event.
Never Back Down 10

Protect your expedition allies without telling them to back down or leave at any point.

During this event, there are three (3) all NPC's (Reena Kedson, Ain Kavus & Sherri Ganes) that are there to help you.

Just ignore then 100% (don't talk to them at all).

Regular Charmer 10

Send 4 palace guards and at least 6 oashim to their death as charmed pets.

This one is tricky and requires at least one Player than can Charm MoB's. At the start, there are four (4) 'a palace guard' -- charm all four (4) and send them to attack Grelleth. Later, there will a wave where a lot of 'an oashim swarmling' spawn. These are not hard to kill, so care needs to be taken as to not kill any of them until at least six (6) of them have been charmed and sent to attack Grelleth.

Flying a Kite 10

After Grelleth has powered up, do not slay her swinetor or undead reinforcements until she is dead.

After a point, Grelleth will 'power up' (52% - 'Your allies look toward the newly empowered queen and make a dash for the door!'), focus all DPS on killing Grelleth. Do not kill any of the swinetor or undead adds until she is dead.

Conqueror of the Chapterhouse of the Fallen 10 Defeat the listed Raid event.
Vanquisher of A Matter of Life and Death 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Unwilling Sacrifice 10

Defeat Marnek with all living sacrifices still alive.

During this event, there three (3) non-aggro 'a living sacrifice' in the room. When Marnek is is on undead form, he will lifetap them to death. To avoid this, they need to be healed and kept alive while Marnek is in undead form.

Keep Your Corpses Afloat 10

Do not allow any corpses to be dragged into the water.

During this event, when a Player dies, a 'Corpse Collector' will drag their bodies towards the 'pool' (at either end of the raid area). To avoid the corpses being dragged to a poll, rez the Players ASAP (real rezzes, not calls).

The Ultimate Sacrifice 10

Defeat Marnek after all living sacrifices have died.

During this event, there are three (3) non-aggro 'a living sacrifice' in the room. When Marnek is is on undead form, he will lifetap them to death. Let him! Do not kill Marnek until after they are all dead.

Conqueror of the Valley of King Xorbb 10 Defeat the three (3) listed Raid events.
Vanquisher of Guardian of the Gate 10 Complete the five (5) listed Achievements.
Whip it Good 10

Allow at least 20 different allies to be hit by 'Whip' during the fight.

During the first event of this raid, Mordaur will crack 'his whip towards' a Player, every 5 to 15 seconds, but only if Findlewill is still alive. If Findlewill is dead, he only does it every 50-seconds-plus. So, the idea here is to off-tank all MoB's until at least twenty different Players have been hit by his whip attack.

Flame Resistant 10

Do not allow anyone to be hit by a fireball.

During the first event of this raid, Findlewill will target Players for a fireball attack ('... Findlewill points at you."). Target Players must avoid this attack by ducking, without fail, and stay ducked for about 24 seconds. 

Time of Death 10

Allow one minute to pass between the death of Findlewill and Mordaur.

During the first event of this raid, Findlewill and Mordaur need to die at least 60-seconds apart... so control DPS to make sure this happens.

Stop, Drop, and Roll 10

Extinguish 'Engulfing Flames' by ducking, sitting, or feigning death.

During the first event of this raid, Findlewill will target Players for a fireball attack ('... Findlewill points at you."). If the attack hits you ('Engulfing Flames'), duck, sit or feign death to 'extinguish them.'

Whip It! 10

Get hit by 'Whip' at least once during the fight.

During the first event of this raid, Mordaur will crack 'his whip towards' a Player, every 5 to 15 seconds, but only if Findlewill is still alive. If Findlewill is dead, he only does it every 50-seconds-plus. So, it is all most a matter of luck if you are hit by his whip attack, unless the raid off-tanks all three bosses until everyone in the raid has gotten this achievement.

Vanquisher of Yymp the Infernal 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Perfectly Cold 10

Do no fire damage at all to Yymp the Abyssal.

During the second event of this raid, no one must use any kind of fire attack, at all, on Yymp! This is a lot harder than it sounds, as it include proc that are fire based, pets that use fire based attacks or weapons, spells that have a fire element to them and so on! This will take a lot of preparation and caution by the entire raid. In fact, some may even want to become spectators so as not to void this achievement.

Remains of the Day 10

Leave ten additional elementals alive to fight after Oxide Fire dies.

During this raid, Yymp will despawn in favor of MoB waves that appear in his place. The final (fourth) wave (~30%) will include Oxide and and about fifteen (15) elemental adds will spawn. Focus DPS (cold attacks) on Oxide and avoid killing the adds, so that at least ten (10) of them are still alive after Oxide dies.

It Burns! 10

Do at least 75,000 points of fire damage to Yymp the Abyssal and feel the burn!

During the second event of this raid, use as many fire attacks as you can on Yymp, to insure that at least 75K of the damage Yymp takes is form said attacks. In fact, the tank may want to aggro but not attack.

Vanquisher of The Return of King Xorbb 10 Complete the three (3) listed Achievements.
Avert Your Gaze 10

Defeat King Xorbb without anyone failing to avert their eyes upon the King's command.

During the King Xorbb event, King Xorbb will emote at one (1) to eight (8) Players at a time ('Avert your gaze or suffer!'). To get this achievement, Players that do not need line of sight should simply never look in King Xorbb's direction at all. When the emote happens, then the rest of the Players need to turn their backs to King Xorbb, until they see another emote that they '... averted their gaze and escaped punishment.'

Mirror, Mirror 10

Reflect all of King Xorbb's beam shots, breaking his defenses each time.

During the King Xorbb event, trash adds can drop a 'barrier shard,' that need to be looted. Players who loot them need to take up position at 'a portal lens' -- where King Xorbb has moved to (he goes non-aggro and moves to a random a portal lens). These players need to be on the opposite side of a portal lens that King Xorbb is at, face a portal lens and then click their barrier shard in unison to prevent (reflect) King Xorbb's lens attack. This needs to be timed with the emote ('...chooses a lens from which to fire'), count to six (one one thousand...) and click their barrier shard. This will happen four times during this raid and each time it require more successful clicks to 'reflect' the attack (1 click, then 4 clicks, then 6 clicks and then 11 clicks). Audio triggers and / or GINA are a tremendous help on this one.

Procrastinators Unite 10

Allow six of the King's greater minions to be alive simultaneously before defeating King Xorbb.

This one is not as easy as it sounds. During the King Xorbb event, kill the trash adds, but leave the 'named' adds alive (Soul Gazer x3, The Proudheart Shell, Soul Stealer, Brantun the Corrupted) and kill King Xorbb while they are still alive.

Crowd Pleaser 10

Ensure the crowd cheers after every command.

In this event, the crowd will emote on a regular basis. They will 'boo' if the battle is 'going too fast' (reduce DPS), want to see 'more damage' (more DPS), see 'slave blood spilled' (kill slave adds), want to see 'tiger blood spilled' (kill a tiger add), or want to see the action brought closer (move to northeast, northwest, southeast or southwest side of the arena, as emoted). Succeed in obeying all of the crowd emotes!

Spare the Slave 10

Complete the raid after sparing the frightened slave.

At the start of the raid, you are faced with 'a frightened slave.' Instead of killing the slave, let it live (do nothing... wait and the event will start after a bit, but it does mean the raid adversaries will also be a little tougher as a result).

What's Behind Door Number Three? 10

Activate the three doors in Luclin's chamber within three minutes of each other.

This is done by attacking (ranged... use an arrow) 'a dark vessel' and / or 'a light vessel' (orbs) to change them to the opposite color (all dark, then all light, or half & half based on north and south compass directions). To get this achievement, make all three (3) the changes happen, in that order, within three (3) minutes.

Reduce, Rinse, Repeat 10

Reduce Luclin's HP to 35% before activating each door.

In this event, after 70%, there are three doors around the room that need to be opened. Friends to the End 10

In this event, there is a 'Bearer of Darkness' and a 'Bearer of Light.' They can heal Luclin. To get this achievement, do not kill them, control DPS and let them heal Luclin at least twenty (20) times.

Avoiding the Deep End 10

Do not allow anyone to die while fighting Glimpse with the pools of deathly shadow.

During this raid event, from ~70% to about ~30, 'a pool of deathly shadow' will constantly spawn around Glimpse. They cannot be killed, and have a 38.5K DoT aura ('Shadow Siphon'), with a 240 range. Drag Glimpsed around to get more than 240 range from each a pool of deathly shadow and keep everyone alive! DPS!

EXPANSION VISIBLE ARMOR SETS

This was before expansion related 'Tier' Group and Raid Armor sets. Other than the mismatched / variant gear (dropped, crafted, vendor sold or quested), this expansion did include a number of full 'visible' (matched) Armor sets (helm, chest, arms, legs, hands, wrists & gloves).

There are other 'sets,' but they did not seem to include an item for every visible slot. Not all classes were in the game yet, but some of this gear was modified (or added) after the fact, to include those future classes. Some gear is also race restricted... and there were a lot of them!

RAID INFO & STRATEGY

The generic strats / info below are from successful raids that I was part of, from research and / or from what I recall. The below info should be adapted, as seen fit, by your Raid Leader. Key emotes may also be noted below. Raid make-up (classes, levels, Player skill levels, etc.) can and do make a difference on raid strategy options and winning or losing. In any situation, Players fulfilling their roles, using assist, and following emotes is always essential. There is always more than one variant strategy that can successfully defeat a raid. As Levels increase, defeating old raids can prove much easier and more forgiving (even as a group or solo / molo, depending on how old the raid event is). However, sometimes, certain mechanics still have to be honored. It has been known that in some events, due raid mechanics, too much DPS; killing MoB X before MOB Y; and similar, can bug the raid and cause it to fail. The below info does not include details on how to complete raid-related achievements. Those are noted elsewhere on this page, if any. Some of these targets may require 'zerging' into the zone get to them (killing stuff along the way). They may also have 'adds' which are often more like trash MoB's that in the general area. The original / older targets / encounters were pre-raid window events. Raids were more of a collective effort, or better, an extremely challenging group event. Any effects noted below  often 'scale to level,' so the effects can be lesser or greater than stated, depending on raid force levels. On Progression servers, targets can use 'Mitigation of the Mighty' (mitigates Spell Damage, Melee Damage and absorbs DoT damage), at least until such time as certain later expansions (typically, expansions that are at least seven-plus expansions after the expansion of the related target). While older targets are static open world (non-instance) events, there are now an Agent of Change in various locations that will provide instanced version of the same event (which are noted below, if any).

Do not forget that many of the old world dragon are 'belly casters,' meaning you need to basically be under them to land spells. Some of these targets were 'beefed' up in 2008 as "Fabled" targets, with enhanced loot drops They can still be found during the Legacy Anniversary events.
