ACCESS TO AND STRATEGY
FOR VALDEHOLM RAIDS
This is a series of tasks that allow you to request the instanced Valdeholm Raids.
The Serpent Spine Progression did not involve locked or keyed zones, it involved tasks series that led to the ability to request raid events.
NOTE: The three solo tasks can be by-passed if you tag along on the first raid and win. This method will flag you to request the first raid as well.
WARNING: By-passing the tasks, however, will prevent you from requesting subsequent raids!

THE QUEST
1) FACTION: First up, you need faction.
You will need ALLY faction with the "Wraithguard Leadership."
This requires you undertake various other tasks handed out by NPC's in Valdeholm.
Some of these tasks give significant faction, so it isn't as arduous as it sounds, plus it can be great XP and decent loot rewards along the way.
The best place to start is with the tasks handed out by Wraithguard Lorekeeper Fenegar (Level 78), as you can get the tasks with dubious faction (starting with this one).
2) HEIMGUL: Next, you need to be granted access to get past Wraithguard Heimgul (Level 75) in Valdeholm.

3) VALDEHOLM: Now you can get to Fergarin Bardon I (Level 78), down the tunnel near Heimgul.
Hail and follow along, or just try saying, "Information" to get the first task called, "Intercepted Correspondence."
4) Take some decent help and head inside the main gates.
Pull and kill the "citizen" type MOB's (Level 68 to 78) until you loot an Incriminating Note (No Trade, Weight 0.1).
5) Head back to Fergarin.
Give him the Incriminating Note to finish this task.
6) Now speak to Fergarin again.
Follow along or just try saying, "Information" to get the next task, called "Lost Letter."
7) Take some decent help and head back inside the main gates.
Pull and kill the "citizen" MOB's (Level 68 to 78) again, until you loot a Sealed Letter (No Trade, Weight 0.1).
8) Head back to Fergarin.
Give him the Sealed Letter to finish this task.
9) Now speak to Fergarin again.
Follow along or just try saying, "Information" to get the next task, called "Confession."
10) DIREWIND CLIFFS: Head up to the "Black Legion" camp, down below the Ashengate zone line.
Pull and kill until you get Telgrith, Black Legion Captain (Level 78) to spawn.
You need to kill him.
11) VALDEHOLM: Head back to Fergarin.
Hail him to complete this task!
Gratz!
You are now flagged request the raid (24-Person) raid called "Kill Kangur."
12) Form your raid and speak to Fergarin.
Follow along or just try saying, "Information" to get the first raid called, "Kill Kangur."
13) VALDEHOLM: KILL KANGUR: Head to this instanced zone.
Entrance is the door at the "black market" area.
Once inside, head to the east side of the "ice lake" (aka "pit" -- under the bridge).
14) You are here to kill Kangur Vafta Veor (Level 85).
Kangur can hit as hard as 4.5K, has a single target ramp (full damage) and flurries. It has a 1K DoT with a 35% Snare (-450 Poison). It also has a 7K Proc with a 2-second stun (unresistible).
If things get ugly, Kangur can be mem-wiped to allow you to recover out of aggro range. Kangur regens very slowly.
When aggroed, ten (10) A Vella Veor (Level 65-ish) will spawn as well. They can cast a root (-400 Cold). They can be mezzed, but need to be killed, because a second wave of ten (10) will soon spawn as well.
The best way to deal with these adds is to AoE mezz/stun while AoE DD'ing them.
There will be two more waves of adds. Each of these waves will have three (3) adds each, called A Gjota Veor (Level 75). They are mezzable, can hit for 1.3K and have a directional 500 DD Root spell (-400 Cold).
With these adds, mezz two and off-tank kill them one at a time. You can also mezz, mind wipe and move Kangur away from them. If you move far enough, they will be out of aggro range when mezz drops.
Upon winning, everyone in the raid will get Letters of Evidence (No Trade, Weight 0.0).
Keep it, it will be needed in the next raid!!
15) VALDEHOLM: Head back to Fergarin.
Hail him to complete this task!
16) Hail Fergarin again and follow along, or just try saying, "I believe in coincidence," to get the raid called, "Udengar the Traitor."
This is an 18-minimum and 54-maximum player raid.
