This quest is not all that easy, but it gains you and weapon Aug that is a 175 DD proc to giant shades.

QUEST SHORTCUT
1) VALDEHOLM: You are looking for Wraithguard Thentil Strongarm (Level 75).
Faction may be an issue with getting this task. If so, you will have to work on faction (amiable).
Hail him and follow along to get this task.

2) FROSTCRYPT, THRONE OF THE SHADE KING: You are here to acquire eight (8) Mark of Rallos Zek (No Trade, Weight 0.6).
They are zone wide random drops off most any MOB.

3) VERGALID MINES: Head to this zone to acquire a drop, from the "trash" Goblins or Orcs (Level 68 to 74).
You can kill them near the bottom of the elevator.
Kill them until you get a Goldfire Ore (No Trade, Weight 1.5).

4) ASHENGATE, RELIQUARY OF THE SCALE: You are here to accomplish several things.
NOTE: Make sure you have a bag slot open!
First up, you need to loot an Obsidian Cup (No Trade, Weight 1.0, 1-Slot Small, 0% Weight Reduction).
It is a random drop off of "Scarlet Legion" MOB's in the north wing (all Level 74 to 79).

5) Now you need to make your way into the east wing. You need to get all the way up the ramps and to the bridge at the lava.
Once there, you need to go under the bridge (via ramps on side) to the lava below.
When you get to the right spot, the Obsidian Cup will automatically change into a Cup of Lava (No Trade, Weight 1.5, 4-Slot Small, 0% Weight Reduction).
I accomplished this by following a group part way up, then using Divine Aura to suicide in for the update.
Otherwise, it will take a good group to make it here.

6) Inside the Cup of Lava combine four (4) Mark of Rallos Zek to make a Darksphere (No Trade, Weight 0.1).
Do this twice, to make two (2) of them.
This is a no-fail combine.

7) Now you need to loot a Reliquary Fragment (No Trade, Weight 1.0).
It is a random drop off the drake-type MOB's, which you can pull and kill from the zone in area (Level 76 to 79).

8) PLANE OF KNOWLEDGE: Head to a forge location.
NOTE: Make sure you have another bag slot open!
If you don't have one all ready, one of the smithing merchants should sell you a Sharpening Stone (Weight 0.1) and a Smithy Hammer (Weight 18.0).

9) In a forge, combine the Smithy Hammer, Sharpening Stone and the Goldfire Ore to make a Pouch of Goldfire Dust (No Trade, Weight 1.0, 1-Slot Small, 0% Weight Reduction).
The Smithing trivial on this is 176.
If you fail, you will have to get the ingredients again.

10) Now combine the Reliquary Fragment inside the Pouch of Goldfire Dust to make an Ore-Coated Reliquary Stone (No Trade, Weight 1.0).
This is a no-fail combine.

11) Now put the Ore-Coated Reliquary Stone and the two (2) Darksphere in the Cup of Lava (it will be consumed this time) to make an Obsidian of Shade Bane (No Trade, Weight 0.2).
This step completes the task.
You may retain the Obsidian of Shade Bane, which has no known use that I can find.
You can now claim your Daystone!
